The affected areas were. Nearshore Waters from Calumet Harbor to Michigan City. Open Waters from Wilmette Harbor to Michigan City out to Mid Lake. The thunderstorms have moved out of the area and no longer pose a significant threat to boaters. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 300 PM CDT for northwestern Indiana. and the adjacent waters of Lake Michigan.

SMWLOT The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a * Special Marine Warning for. Nearshore Waters from Gary to Michigan City. Open Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Michigan City out to Mid Lake. * Until 245 PM CDT. * At 153 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 20 nm northeast of Harrison-Dever Crib to 10 nm north of Burns Harbor to Marina Shores at Dune Harbor, moving northeast at 25 knots. HAZARD. Wind gusts to nearly 50 knots and large hail. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Large hail could result in structural damage. * Locations impacted include. Michigan City, Burns Harbor, and Marina Shores at Dune Harbor.

A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas. Nearshore and Open Waters from St Joseph to Manistee MI. At 137 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated showers and a few embedded thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. They existed along a line extending from near Sheboygan to 24 nm northeast of Wind Pt. to 13 nm northeast of Wilmette Harbor, moving east at 30 knots. strong thunderstorms will be near. White Lake Pier Heads and The White Lake Pierheads around 255 PM EDT. Muskegon Light, Little Sable Point Light, and Mona Lake Channel around 300 PM EDT. Grand Haven Light around 305 PM EDT. Saugatuck Pier Heads around 320 PM EDT. South Haven Light around 325 PM EDT.
