The combination of drying fuels, northwesterly winds around 15 mph with gusts around 25 mph, and relative humidity values dropping into the lower 20s will result in an increased fire danger across northeast North Carolina. The North Carolina Forest Service has issued a statewide ban on all open burning and has cancelled all burning permits until further notice. The NC Forest Service will continue to monitor conditions. Low relative humidity values in the upper teens to lower 20s combined with wind gusts of 20 to 25 mph, and drying fuels will result in an increased fire danger across Central and Eastern Virginia.
