At 523 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms over Gaston, or over Roanoke Rapids, moving northeast at 20 mph. HAZARD. Wind gusts up to 40 mph, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Reduced visibility and minor flooding possible. Frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes. This strong thunderstorm will be near. Garysburg and Gaston around 530 PM EDT. Dahlia around 535 PM EDT. Claresville around 550 PM EDT. Other locations impacted by this storm include Adams Grove, Grizzard, Gum Forks, Bufford Crossroads, Lanes Corner, Pleasant Shade, Henrico, Bryants Corner, Jackson, and Slates Corner.

FFWAKQ The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for. York County in southeastern Virginia. The City of Hampton in southeastern Virginia. The City of Newport News in southeastern Virginia. The City of Poquoson in southeastern Virginia. * Until 645 PM EDT. * At 345 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD. Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include. Newport News, Hampton, Langley AFB, Christopher Newport University, Patrick Henry Field, Hampton University, Northampton, Beaconsdale, Tabb, Denbigh, Buckroe Beach, Fort Monroe, Grand View, Fort Eustis, Langley View, Hilton Village, Messick, Raleigh Terrace, Dare and Oyster Point.
