Gusty Winds This Afternoon And Early Evening. Winds will turn more southwesterly and become gusty this afternoon, with gusts to 35 mph expected to be common across the area. Scattered showers and perhaps an isolated thunderstorm will continue this afternoon and early evening, and any heavier showers or storms can locally and briefly enhance gusts to 40 to 50 mph. Winds will diminish from west to east this evening behind a cold front. The gusty winds may make driving difficult for high profile vehicles. Unsecured items, such as holiday decorations, can be blown around. A few downed tree limbs and an isolated power outage are also possible.

STRONG WIND THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT THE AREA THROUGH 215 PM EST. At 134 PM EST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Waynesburg to near Dennison to 11 miles southeast of Byesville. Movement was northeast at 65 mph. HAZARD. Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include. Weirton, Steubenville, Hermitage, Sharon, Salem, East Liverpool, Columbiana, East Palestine, Sharpsville, Barnesville, Wellsville, and Cadiz. This includes the following highways.
