LAKE EFFECT SNOWS EXPECTED ONCE AGAIN ACROSS THE SNOWBELTS OF NORTHERN LOWER MICHIGAN TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING. . Initial lesser organized lake effect snow showers developing during the day today into tonight will eventually become more intense later tonight into Wednesday as temperatures fall into the teens and 20s by Wednesday night. The period of heaviest lake effect snows will be later tonight through Thursday afternoon, with the greatest accumulations occurring across the snowbelts of northwest lower Michigan. * WHAT. Heavy snow. Total snow accumulations between 3 to 8 inches possible, with localized totals of 12 to 18 inches in the snowbelt areas along and west of I-75. Winds could gust as high as 30mph. * WHERE. A portion of Northern Lower Michigan. * WHEN. From this evening through Thursday evening. * IMPACTS. Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions will likely impact commutes spanning Wednesday morning through Thursday evening.
