ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER POTENTIAL FOR TODAY. High temperatures in the upper 40s to lower 50s combined with a very dry air mass will support minimum afternoon relative humidities between 20 and 30 percent across Hartford, Tolland and Windham Counties. Southwest wind gusts will also range between 20 to 25 mph. Incorporating input from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection`s Division of Forestry, elevated fire weather potential is expected today in Hartford, Tolland and Windham Counties in northern Connecticut. Use caution when handling ignition sources, including but not limited to matches and cigarettes.
