Locally dense fog has developed along the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers, as well as smaller rivers, tributaries, swamps and wetlands throughout eastern New York and western New England. Parts of the thruway, northway, and interstate 88 will be affected by the locally dense fog. Visibilities will be less than a mile with some localized visibilities one quarter mile or less. The fog will burn off by 9 AM. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution, use low beams, slow down and allow for extra time to reach destinations.
