The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for. West Central Yuma County in southwestern Arizona. Southeastern Imperial County in southeastern California. * Until 300 PM MST /300 PM PDT/. * At 1100 AM MST /1100 AM PDT/, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 0.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD. Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include. Yuma, Fortuna Foothills, Araby, Winterhaven and Blaisdell. This includes the following highways. AZ Interstate 8 near mile marker 1. and between mile markers 10 and 15. and between mile markers 2 and 4. AZ Route 95 between mile markers 29 and 35. AZ Route 195 between mile markers 16 and 25. Until 230 PM MST /230 PM PDT/. * IMPACTS. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 1032 AM MST /1032 AM PDT/, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 0.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area.
