Chesapeake Bay from New Point Comfort to Little Creek VA. York River. * Until midnight EDT. * At 1101 PM EDT, gusty southeast winds were observed over portions of the lower Chesapeake Bay and York River with a northward moving low pressure system. HAZARD. Wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include. A portion of southeast Virginia, including the following counties and independent cities, City of Chesapeake, City of Hampton, City of Newport News, City of Norfolk, City of Poquoson, City of Portsmouth, City of Virginia Beach, City of Williamsburg, James City and York. * WHEN. Until 230 AM EDT. * IMPACTS. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 1129 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen in the past two hours. - Additional rainfall amounts of around 0.5 inch are expected over the area in the next 90 minutes. - Some locations that will experience flooding include.
