High pressure is building into the area. This is combining with light winds and lingering low-level moisture, helping areas of dense fog to develop early this morning. Visibilities will be below a quarter of a mile in many locations, and down to hundreds of feet in the thickest of the fog. If you are driving early this morning, be sure to slow down and use your low beam headlights when you encounter any fog. The fog will slowly start to clear after 9 AM EDT.

Clearing skies, light winds, and recent rain will allow for fog to develop over the region tonight and last through early Thursday morning. In some areas, fog may become dense and significantly reduce visibilities. Motorists should use extra caution and be prepared for a sudden drop in visibility. Reduce speed and use low beam headlights in foggy areas.
