At 917 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 7 miles southeast of Whitehall to 13 miles southeast of Burns Point. Movement was east at 25 mph. HAZARD. Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include. Houma, Thibodaux, Reserve, Metairie, Hahnville, Laplace, Jefferson, Harahan, Gramercy, Lutcher, Lockport, Mathews, Schriever, Montz, Luling, Garyville, River Ridge, Boutte, Supreme, and Raceland. This includes the following Interstates. Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 190 and 229. Interstate 55 in Louisiana between mile markers 1 and 15. Interstate 310 between mile markers 1 and 11.

Vermilion and West Cote Blanche Bays. * Until 930 AM CDT. * At 827 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located near Vermilion Bay, moving east at 10 knots. HAZARD. Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include. The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this evening to a crest of 17.5 feet tomorrow evening.
