At 749 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Norwood to near Slaughter to near Zachary. Movement was east at 40 mph. HAZARD. Winds in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include. Hammond, Zachary, Clinton, Greensburg, Amite, Amite City, Kentwood, Independence, Roseland, Slaughter, Wilson, Osyka, Norwood, Montpelier, Darlington, Mount Herman, Wilmer, Natalbany, Pride, and Felps. This includes the following Interstates. Interstate 55 in Louisiana between mile markers 32 and 66. Interstate 55 in Mississippi between mile markers 1 and 2.

Portions of Louisiana, including the following parishes, Allen, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Evangeline, Rapides and Vernon and southeast Texas, including the following areas, Hardin, Northern Jasper, Northern Newton, Southern Jasper, Southern Newton and Tyler. * WHEN. Through Tuesday morning. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected to affect the region again today into tonight. Portions of the area received 2 to 4 inches of rainfall Sunday, and an additional 1 to 3 inches is expected today, along with localized higher amounts. With the ground saturated from previous rains yesterday and over the past couple of weeks, any additional rain will increase runoff, resulting in an increased risk for flooding. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
