Areas of fog remain across the Virginia piedmont early this morning, and will persist through around 8 am EDT, with improving conditions thereafter. Visibilities will average between one half mile and two miles, but will be locally reduced to one quarter mile at times, especially over low lying locations. Motorists should be alert for sudden changes in visibility due to the areas of dense fog. Drive at reduced speeds and use low beam headlights only.
