* WHAT. Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE. A portion of western North Carolina, including the following county, Caldwell. * WHEN. Until 800 PM EDT. * IMPACTS. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 454 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. This is a slow moving storm with high rainfall rates. If the storm persists for an extended period of time, a flood warning may be issued. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. Central Wilkes County in northwestern North Carolina. * Until 615 PM EDT. * At 448 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD.
