Fog will develop overnight across much of Southwest and Southside Virginia, extending southward into Northwest North Carolina. The fog should be the most dense along the higher elevations of the Blue Ridge, from Floyd, Virginia, into Northwest North Carolina. Visibilities under a quarter mile may occasionally be seen along parts of I-77 between Hillsville and the North Carolina border, and along the Blue Ridge Parkway from the Meadows of Dan to Blowing rock. If out traveling overnight, be prepared for sudden changes in visibility. Slow down and use the low beam setting of your headlights in foggy areas. Be sure to allow extra time to reach your destination. Additional statements will be issued as conditions warrant.

The National Weather Service in Raleigh NC has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in North Carolina. Haw River At Haw River affecting Alamance County. * WHAT. Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Haw River at Haw River. * WHEN. From late tonight to early Thursday morning. * IMPACTS. At 18.0 feet, Minor flooding begins. Overflow begins on both banks at the water treatment plant. At 20.0 feet, There is significant overflow on the right bank opposite the water treatment plant. Water also reaches the Red Slide Park upstream of the Main St. Bridge. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 9:45 PM EDT Tuesday the stage was 16.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 18.0 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to rise above flood stage late tonight to a crest of 18.4 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage early tomorrow afternoon. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
