A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Alamance, Anson, Chatham, Cumberland, Davidson, Durham, Forsyth, Granville, Guilford, Harnett, Hoke, Johnston, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Orange, Person, Randolph, Richmond, Sampson, Scotland, Stanly, Wake and Wayne. * WHEN. The latest guidance suggests a stripe of 1 to 3 inches, with locally 4 or more inches, is possible across the Piedmont and Sandhills, with the highest totals expected along and west of US Highway 1. This rainfall may result in flash flooding. Given some continued uncertainty in the exact track of Chantal and its precipitation footprint, the watch includes portions of the Coastal Plain. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
