At 703 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Butner, or 7 miles west of Creedmoor, moving east at 15 mph. HAZARD. Wind gusts up to 40 mph, half inch hail and heavy rainfall. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locally heavy rainfall could lead to ponding on roadways and ditches overflowing. Locations impacted include. Creedmoor, Butner, Stem, Lake Michie, Lake Butner, Bahama, and Falls Lake.

* WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE. A portion of central North Carolina, including Alamance, Durham, Granville, Orange and Person counties * WHEN. Until 845 PM EDT. * IMPACTS. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas, including on streets and in urban locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 642 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include.
