While much of the flood control region will have Papillion Creek remain within its banks, some low-lying and flood-prone locations will experience flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 253 PM CDT, Big Papillion and Little Papillion Creeks are running very full, and are experiencing flooding in some locations. Until 600 PM CDT. * IMPACTS. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems. Please avoid any flooded roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 249 PM CDT, emergency management, trained spotters, and the public reported very heavy rainfall across the warned area early this morning. Between 3 and 7 inches of rain have fallen over much of the warned area, with some locations receiving 8 inches or more. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. Missouri River At Brownville affecting Nemaha and Atchison Counties. West Nishnabotna River At Hancock affecting Pottawattamie County. West Nishnabotna River At Randolph affecting Mills and Fremont Counties. * WHAT. Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Missouri River at Plattsmouth. * WHEN. From late tonight to Thursday afternoon. * IMPACTS. At 27.0 feet, Minor flooding is occurring in the parking lots near the gauge site and boat ramp. In addition, a private camping area just upstream of the gauge site begins to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 9:15 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 19.7 feet. or 6.3 feet below flood stage. - Bankfull stage is 26.0 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to rise above flood stage just after midnight tonight to a crest of 27.4 feet early tomorrow afternoon.
