SMWMOB The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a * Special Marine Warning for. Mississippi Sound. North Mobile Bay. South Mobile Bay. * Until 545 PM CDT. * At 409 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located near Grand Bay, moving southeast at 15 knots. HAZARD. Waterspouts, wind gusts to nearly 50 knots, and large hail. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Large hail could result in structural damage. * Locations impacted include. Gaillard Island, East Fowl River Bridge, Grand Bay, Bon Secour Bay, Middle Bay Light, Heron Bay, Point Clear, Weeks Bay, Dog River Bridge, and Fairhope Pier.

Portions of Alabama, including the following areas, Baldwin Central, Baldwin Coastal, Baldwin Inland, Butler, Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Covington, Crenshaw, Escambia, Mobile Central, Mobile Coastal, Mobile Inland, Monroe, Washington and Wilcox, northwest Florida, including the following areas, Escambia Coastal, Escambia Inland, Okaloosa Coastal, Okaloosa Inland, Santa Rosa Coastal and Santa Rosa Inland, and southeast Mississippi, including the following areas, George, Greene, Perry, Stone and Wayne. * WHEN. Through Saturday afternoon. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall are expected to pass across the area through Saturday afternoon. Widespread rainfall amounts of 2 to 5 inches are expected, with localized totals above 6 inches possible. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 414 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. At 9.0 feet, Bells Ferry Road will be impassable with deep water on the east bridge approach. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 9:45 AM CDT Friday the stage was 4.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to rise above flood stage tomorrow evening to a crest of 9.0 feet Sunday morning. The river is expected to rise to a crest of 12.0 feet early Sunday morning.
