A period of moderate to heavy rain is expected through Friday as low pressure moves up the coast. The rain will fall on a primed snowpack leading to significant melt. The combination of rain and snowmelt will increase flows in rivers and streams, some of which could reach critical levels. * WHAT. Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues to be possible. * WHERE. Portions of southwest Maine, including the following areas, Coastal York and Interior York and New Hampshire, including the following areas, Coastal Rockingham, Eastern Hillsborough, Interior Rockingham, Merrimack, Strafford and Western And Central Hillsborough. * WHEN. Through Friday afternoon. * IMPACTS. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Rainfall of 1 to 2 inches with locally higher amounts is possible in the watch area. This in combination with 1 to 2 inches of snowmelt will lead to small stream flooding. Urban and low lying flooding is also possible.

The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Connecticut. Rhode Island. Massachusetts. Pawcatuck River At Westerly affecting New London and Washington Counties. Taunton River Near Bridgewater affecting Plymouth and Bristol Counties. For the Pawcatuck River. including Westerly. Minor flooding is forecast. For the Taunton River. including Bridgewater. Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT. Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Taunton River near Bridgewater. * WHEN. Until further notice. * IMPACTS. At 11.0 feet, Minor lowland and backyard flooding is likely along reaches of the river along Bridgewater and Middleboro. Backwater flooding from the Taunton River will cause prolonged flooding of lower Purchade Brook in Middleboro. This will cause Woloski Park to become impassable by vehicles for days. Beware of the dangers of crossing flooded roadways- the water may be deeper than you think. Floodwaters have the ability to damage roadways. Heed the advice of local officials, and evacuate if asked to do so. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 12:45 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 7.3 feet. - Bankfull stage is 8.0 feet. - Forecast. The National Weather Service in Gray ME has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in New Hampshire. Suncook River At North Chichester affecting Belknap and Merrimack Counties. * WHAT. Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Suncook River at North Chichester. * WHEN. From this afternoon until further notice. * IMPACTS. At 11.0 feet, Floodwaters surround homes and roads in the Riverside Drive community off Pinewood Road in Allenstown. Water up to Jasper Drive, Bourge Roads, and Albin Avenue. At 12.0 feet, Several properties surrounded by floodwaters along Riverside Drive and Bachelder Road with damages likely to items not moved to higher ground. Water up to properties on Jasper Drive in Allenstown. Floodwaters encroach onto low lying properties of Kings Towne Park in Epsom. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 11:15 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 6.1 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to rise above flood stage this afternoon and continue rising to a crest of 11.6 feet tomorrow morning. - Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
