SMWLOT The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a * Special Marine Warning for. Nearshore Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Northerly Island. Nearshore Waters from Burns Harbor to Michigan City. Open Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Michigan City out to Mid Lake. * Until 1245 AM CDT. * At 1113 PM CDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 33 nm east of Racine to 14 nm southeast of Wind Pt. to 8 nm southwest of Pleasant Prairie, moving southeast at 35 knots. HAZARD. Wind gusts to 40 knots and small hail. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include. Harrison-Dever Crib, Michigan City, Wilmette Harbor, Winthrop Harbor, Montrose Harbor, Monroe Harbor, Waukegan Harbor, Belmont Harbor, Diversy Harbor, and DuSable Harbor.

At 1141 PM CDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 29 nm west of Saugatuck Pier Heads to 23 nm east of Winthrop Harbor to near Waukegan Harbor, moving east at 35 knots. HAZARD. Wind gusts to 40 knots and small hail. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Locations impacted include. The areas affected include. Nearshore and Open Waters from St Joseph to Pentwater MI. At 1107 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a line of showers containing a few thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These showers were located along a line extending from 20 nm west of Little Sable Point Light to near Milwaukee, moving southeast at 50 knots. Locations impacted include. South Haven Light, Saugatuck Pier Heads, St. Joseph Light, White Lake Pier Heads, Little Sable Point Light, Grand Haven Light, The White Lake Pierheads, and St. Joseph.

* WHAT. Northwest winds to 30 knots and waves 3 to 5 feet expected. * WHERE. St Joseph to Whitehall. * WHEN. Until 5 PM EDT Saturday. * IMPACTS. Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. A band of gusty rain showers approaching from Wisconsin may produce wind gusts to 30 kts toward Midnight. Behind that band of rain a period of northwest winds of 15 to 25 knots and 3 to 5 foot waves is expected into mid afternoon Saturday.
