FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING FOR NIIHAU KAUAI OAHU MOLOKAI LANAI AND MAUI. * WHAT. Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE. Kauai, Niihau, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe, and Maui. * WHEN. Through Friday evening. * IMPACTS. Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow of streams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, along with property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff. Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - A kona low north to northwest of the state will bring the potential for heavy rain and thunderstorms through at least Friday. The highest chance for excessive rainfall appears to be over Kauai and Oahu through Friday. However all islands in the Flood Watch area should be prepared for the possibility of flash flooding.

The focus for excessive rainfall will be over Molokai, Lanai, and Oahu initially, then will shift farther wester to focus over Oahu, Kauai, and Niihau on Friday. All islands in the Flood Watch area should be prepared for the possibility of flash flooding.

This swell will peak later today through Friday. * WHAT. Surf of 7 to 10 feet. * WHERE. South-facing shores of all Hawaiian Islands. * WHEN. Until 6 PM HST Friday afternoon. * IMPACTS. Moderate. Strong breaking waves and strong currents will make swimming dangerous.
