FFWHFO The National Weather Service in Honolulu has extended the * Flash Flood Warning for. The island of Oahu in Honolulu County * Until 145 PM HST. * At 1024 AM HST, radar indicated that heavy rain remained nearly stationary over the Koolau mountains. New areas of heavy rainfall have recently developed over the area from Ahuimanu to Kaneohe to Waimanalo, while also continuing near Kahana. Rain gages indicate occasional bursts of torrential rainfall, with rain rates in excess of 2 inches per hour falling over already soaked soils. HAZARD. Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE. Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT. Flooding in drainages, streams, rivers, roads, properties, and other low-lying areas. Public road closures possible in some areas. Landslides are possible in steep terrain. Remember flash flooding can occur well downstream from the mountains. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include. Waikane, Waiahole, Kaaawa, Kahaluu, Punaluu, Ahuimanu, Hauula,Kaneohe, Laie, Kaneohe Marine Base, Maunawili, Kahuku, Kailua and Waimanalo.

At 1158 AM HST, radar indicated that heavy rain continues to remain nearly stationary over the Koolau mountains and many windward areas. Media reported flooding on the H3 off ramp onto Kamehameha Highway and water flowing over Kamehameha highway near Waiahole. Heavy rain will likely continue to persist over the next several hours and additional flooding impacts are expected. HAZARD. Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE. Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT. Flooding in drainages, streams, rivers, roads, properties, and other low-lying areas. Public road closures possible in some areas. Landslides are possible in steep terrain. * WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall. * WHERE. The island of Oahu in Honolulu County. * WHEN. Until 215 PM HST. * IMPACTS. Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 1104 AM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over leeward and central Oahu with the heaviest rainfall over the Waianae mountains. Rain was falling at a rate of up to 2 inches per hour. Heavy showers will likely increase over the next few hours. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. Waipio, Schofield Barracks, Wheeler Field, Wahiawa, Mililani, Waianae, Kunia, Nanakuli, Waialua, Waikele, Waipahu, Makakilo, Haleiwa, Kapolei, Pearl City, Ewa Beach, Aiea, Halawa, Salt Lake and Moanalua.
