Coastal waters from Savannah GA to Altamaha Sound GA out 20 nm . including Grays Reef National Marine Sanctuary. * Until 1130 AM EDT. * At 924 AM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located over Savannah River Entrance, moving northeast at 30 knots. HAZARD. Wind gusts 35 knots or greater. SOURCE. Radar. At 922 AM EDT, the Weatherflow site on the south end of Tybee Island measured a 38 knot wind gust. IMPACT. Waters from Edisto Beach SC to Savannah GA extending from 20 nm to 40 nm. * Until 1100 AM EDT. * At 859 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located 9 nm southeast of Hilton Head Reef, or 11 nm west of R7 Tower, moving northeast at 15 knots. HAZARD. Waterspouts and wind gusts 35 knots or greater. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas.
