FFWBMX The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for. Lee County in east central Alabama. * Until 200 AM CDT. * At 1048 PM CDT, the public reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain in Auburn, Opelika. Between 2 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD. Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE. Public reported. IMPACT. Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include. Auburn, Opelika, Notasulga, Beauregard, Auburn University, Griffen Mill, Beans Mill, Loachapoka, Robert G. Pitts Airport, Chewacla State Park and Mount Jefferson.

* WHAT. Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE. A portion of central Alabama, including the following counties, Barbour, Bullock, Elmore, Lee, Macon, Montgomery, Russell and Tallapoosa. * WHEN. Until 115 AM CDT. * IMPACTS. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 1009 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. Eastern Montgomery, Auburn, Opelika, Tuskegee, Tallassee, Union Springs, Dadeville, Camp Hill, Notasulga, Hurtsboro, Milstead, Shorter, Franklin, Waverly, Tuskegee National Forest, Lake Tuskegee, Davisville, Society Hill, Auburn University and Liverpool.
