Flood Watch
Issued By NWS Tallahassee FL Broadcast Time 05/18/2024 01:09 CDT
Issuing Time 05/18/2024 01:09 CDT Valid Until 05/18/2024 19:00 CDT

* WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE. Portions of southeast Alabama, including the following areas, Coffee, Dale, Geneva, Henry and Houston, Panhandle Florida, including the following areas, Holmes, Jackson and North Walton, and southwest Georgia, including the following areas, Baker, Calhoun, Clay, Dougherty, Early, Lee, Miller, Mitchell, Quitman, Randolph, Seminole and Terrell. * WHEN. Through this evening. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms will develop across the area this afternoon. Widespread rain totals will generally be around 1 to 2 inches but localized areas in the flood watch region could see 2 to 4 inches of new rainfall. Some of these rainfall amounts could occur across areas that already received heavier rains on Friday, this increasing the concerns for localized flooding and/or flash flooding. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
