SMWJAX The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a * Special Marine Warning for. Coastal waters from Altamaha Sound to Fernandina Beach FL out 20 NM. Coastal waters from Fernandina Beach to St. Augustine FL out 20 NM. * Until 645 PM EDT. * At 537 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Amelia City, or 33 nm south of St. Simons Island, moving east at 15 knots. HAZARD. Wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include. Saint Marys Entrance Buoy 16, Amelia City, Talbot Island, Nassau Sound Approach Buoy 6a, Whittakers Snapper Hole Reef, and Dungeness.

A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas. Coastal waters from Altamaha Sound to Fernandina Beach FL out 20 NM. Coastal waters from Fernandina Beach to St. Augustine FL out 20 NM. Waters from Altamaha Sound GA to Fernandina Beach FL from 20 to 60 NM. Waters from Fernandina Beach to St. Augustine FL from 20 to 60 NM. At 525 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 12 nm northwest of Altamaha Sound to near Amelia City, moving east at 20 knots.
