Areas of locally dense fog have formed this morning across much of central and southern Virginia, and interior portions of northeast North Carolina. Visibilities average between one half mile and two miles, but will be locally reduced to one quarter of a mile in spots. Motorists are urged to use extra caution and be alert for rapid changes in visibility. The fog is expected to lift between 8 am and 9 am.

The National Weather Service in Raleigh NC has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in North Carolina. Neuse River Near Goldsboro affecting Wayne County. * WHAT. Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Neuse River near Goldsboro. * WHEN. From late tonight to early Monday morning. * IMPACTS. At 18.0 feet, Minor flooding begins. Water overflows the banks at the Arrington Bridge Rd and upstream of the US-117 bridge. Ferry Bridge Rd begins to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 9:15 PM EDT Saturday the stage was 17.9 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to rise above flood stage just after midnight tonight to a crest of 18.1 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow afternoon. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet. - Flood History. No available flood history. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 4:31 AM EDT Sunday was 18.1 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to fall below flood stage late this afternoon and continue falling to 13.5 feet Thursday evening. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet. - Flood History.
