An increasing risk of heavy rainfall and flash flooding is anticipated over far northern Iowa this morning and then later this evening and overnight. Showers and storms early this morning have trended farther south with an increased likelihood of heavy rain in portions of northern Iowa through the morning hours. Rain may continue to linger into the daylight hours, but will be generally scattered in nature with additional widespread heavy rain arriving later this evening until around dawn Saturday morning. Some uncertainty remains as to the exact axis of heaviest rainfall, but current indications are that the heaviest rainfall will be near the Iowa Minnesota border. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE. Portions of north central and northwest Iowa, including the following counties, in north central Iowa, Cerro Gordo, Hancock, Kossuth, Winnebago and Worth.
