Small creeks and streams continue to run high. There is a potential of additional heavy rainfall expected this evening. The flood warning has been extended into Tuesday morning. * WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE. A portion of south central Minnesota, including the following counties, Faribault, Freeborn and Martin. * WHEN. Until 1000 AM CDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 906 AM CDT, emergency management reported flooding in the warned area. Flooding is already occurring. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. Portions of northwest Iowa, including the following counties, Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Lyon, O'Brien, Osceola and Sioux, southwest Minnesota, including the following counties, Jackson, Nobles and Rock, and southeast South Dakota, including the following counties, Clay, Davison, Hanson, Hutchinson, Lincoln, McCook, Minnehaha, Turner and Union. * WHEN. Until 100 PM CDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Several structures are flooded and some sand bagging operations are continuing. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 1257 PM CDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring.
