At 416 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Maxie, or 7 miles north of Crowley, moving east at 5 mph. HAZARD. Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to vegetation and outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include. Lafayette, Crowley, Scott, Rayne, Church Point, Iota, Sunset, Duson, Cankton, Mowata, Maxie, Mire, Branch, and Richard. This includes Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 76 and 99.
