FFWLCH The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for. Southeastern St. Landry Parish in central Louisiana. Northwestern St. Martin Parish in south central Louisiana. * Until 730 PM CDT. * At 429 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD. Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include. Mermentau River near Mermentau. * WHEN. From this morning to early Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS. At 4.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding near the river will occur. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 9:15 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 4.0 feet. - Forecast. The river will fall below flood stage this afternoon to 3.8 feet tomorrow evening. It will then rise to flood stage early Tuesday afternoon.
