SMWLCH The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a * Special Marine Warning for. Coastal waters from Lower Atchafalaya River to Intracoastal City LA out 20 NM. Waters from Lower Atchafalaya River to Intracoastal City LA from 20 to 60 NM. * Until 630 AM CDT. * At 523 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Eugene Island 63, or 17 nm southwest of Atchafalaya Bay, moving southeast at 20 knots. HAZARD. Wind gusts 34 knots or greater and large hail. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Large hail could result in structural damage. * Locations impacted include. Eugene Island 105, Eugene Island 57, Eugene Island 100, Eugene Island 120, Eugene Island 142, Eugene Island 107, Eugene Island 63, Eugene Island 74, and Eugene Island 108.

At 4.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding near the river will occur. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 9:15 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 4.0 feet. - Forecast. The river will fall below flood stage this afternoon to 3.8 feet tomorrow evening. It will then rise to flood stage early Tuesday afternoon.
