SVRLWX The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Warning for. West central Nelson County in central Virginia. South central Augusta County in western Virginia. * Until 500 PM EDT. * At 423 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Stuarts Draft, or 11 miles southwest of Waynesboro, moving southeast at 15 mph. HAZARD. 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecured light objects may become projectiles. * Locations impacted include. Stuarts Draft and Greenville.

At 442 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Wintergreen, or 11 miles southwest of Waynesboro, moving southeast at 15 mph. HAZARD. 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecured light objects may become projectiles. This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of west central Nelson and southern Augusta Counties.
