Coastal waters from High Island to Freeport TX out 20 NM. Galveston Bay. Matagorda Bay. Waters from Freeport to Matagorda Ship Channel TX from 20 to 60 NM. Waters from High Island to Freeport TX from 20 to 60 NM. * Until 845 AM CDT. * At 640 AM CDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 61 nm north of Scott Bay to 35 nm northwest of Crystal Bay to 27 nm west of Burnet Bay to 40 nm west of Upper San Jacinto Bay to 47 nm north of Turtle Bay to 50 nm north of Port Lavaca, moving southeast at 40 knots. HAZARD. Wind gusts to nearly 50 knots. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include. Heald Bank, Matagorda Ship Channel, Tabs Buoy B, Brazos 439, Matagorda Island 557, Palacios Bay, Galveston 282, High Island 157, Tabs Buoy W, Galveston Causeway, High Island 63, High Island A179, Bastrop Bay, Christmas Bay, East Galveston Bay, Brazos 400, High Island A23, West Bay, Matagorda Island 607, and Galveston 317.

At 12.2 feet, Minor lowland flooding begins in the vicinity of the gage. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 2:30 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 13.3 feet. - Bankfull stage is 9.2 feet. - Recent Activity. The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 2:30 PM CDT Thursday was 14.0 feet. - Forecast. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 712 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area.
