Several areas across the Mid-South have received over 4 inches of rainfall over the past 7 days, with multiple areas reporting flooding of streams and roadways. Additional rounds of heavy rainfall are anticipated now through Monday morning, with a potential lull in activity on Saturday. Heavy rains will further aggravate rivers and streams, causing rises to and above bankfull. * WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE. Portions of East Arkansas, including the following areas, Clay, Craighead, Crittenden, Cross, Greene, Lee AR, Mississippi, Phillips, Poinsett and St. Francis, North Mississippi, including the following areas, Alcorn, Benton MS, Calhoun, Chickasaw, Coahoma, DeSoto, Itawamba, Lafayette, Lee MS, Marshall, Monroe, Panola, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tippah, Tishomingo, Tunica, Union and Yalobusha, Southeast Missouri, including the following areas, Dunklin and Pemiscot, and West Tennessee, including the following areas, Benton TN, Carroll, Chester, Crockett, Decatur, Dyer, Fayette, Gibson, Hardeman, Hardin, Haywood, Henderson, Henry, Lake, Lauderdale, Madison, McNairy, Obion, Shelby, Tipton and Weakley. * WHEN. Central Tate County in northwestern Mississippi. * Until 930 PM CDT. * At 633 PM CDT, the public reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain in Senatobia. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD. Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE. Public reported. IMPACT. Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include. Hernando, Senatobia, Coldwater, Arkabutla, Phillipp, Love, Bluff, Robinson Gin, New Town, Poagville and Crossroad.
