SMWCHS The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a * Special Marine Warning for. Waters from Savannah GA to Altamaha Sound GA extending from 20 nm to 60 nm. * Until 245 AM EDT. * At 118 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located 8 nm west of R7 Tower, moving southeast at 10 knots. HAZARD. Waterspouts, wind gusts 35 knots or greater, and small hail. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * The severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
