A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Alamance, Anson, Chatham, Cumberland, Davidson, Durham, Forsyth, Granville, Guilford, Harnett, Hoke, Johnston, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Orange, Person, Randolph, Richmond, Sampson, Scotland, Stanly, Wake and Wayne. * WHEN. From 6 AM EDT this morning through late tonight. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - The remnants of Tropical Storm Chantal will bring widespread showers and embedded storms across central North Carolina through early Monday. The latest guidance suggests a stripe of 1 to 3 inches, with locally 4 or more inches, is possible across the Piedmont and Sandhills, with the highest totals expected along and west of US Highway 1. This rainfall may result in flash flooding. * WHAT. Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE. A portion of southeast North Carolina, including the following counties, Brunswick and New Hanover. * WHEN. Until 800 AM EDT. * IMPACTS. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 424 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain has already fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include.
