Patches of dense fog have developed over a large portion of central North Carolina, with visibilities at many locations dropping briefly to a half mile or less. Fog may be worse in low areas and near bodies of water or wetlands. This fog is expected to persist through mid morning. Drivers this morning are urged to use extra caution. Slow down, maintain extra distance ahead of you, and be prepared for sudden drops in visibility.

The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in North Carolina. Cape Fear River At Elizabethtown affecting Bladen County. Cape Fear River At William O Huske Lock And Dam 3 affecting Bladen and Cumberland Counties. Northeast Cape Fear River Near Burgaw affecting Pender County. . The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in North Carolina. South Carolina. Waccamaw River near Freeland affecting Brunswick and Columbus Counties. Great Pee Dee River At Pee Dee affecting Marion and Florence Counties. * WHAT. Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Waccamaw River near Freeland. * WHEN. Until further notice. * IMPACTS. At 16.0 feet, Water will continue to spread out of its banks and into swamps along the river and some yards near the river will begin to flood. Fields along Kingstown Rd, Crusoe Island Road, and Dock Road may begin to flood. Pireway Road NW may begin to flood between Horseshoe Road NW and Rivergate Drive. Rivergate Drive may begin to flood. Mosquito Rd NW may begin to flood. The end of Reaves Ferry Road near Nakina may be flooded. Ash-Little River Road may begin to flood near Wet Ash Swamp. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 8:30 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 16.0 feet. - Forecast. Until Tuesday afternoon. * IMPACTS. At 12.0 feet, Flooding worsens in the River Bend, River Birch and Alligator Lake subdivisions off Highway 53 on the east bank of the river. Floodwaters continue to rise on Croomsbridge Road and Old Maple Hill Road. Holly Shelter Estates and the Sandy Bend subdivision begin to be affected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 8:30 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 10.3 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to rise to a crest of 12.0 feet early Saturday afternoon. At 13.0 feet, Low land flooding adjacent to the river and its tributaries is expected. River access docks are impacted as well. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 7:30 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 13.6 feet. - Recent Activity. The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:30 PM EDT Thursday was 13.9 feet. - Forecast.
