At 524 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over High Rock Lake, or 11 miles east of Salisbury, moving northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD. Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include. High Point, Asheboro, North Carolina Zoo, Denton, Gordontown, High Rock Lake, Newsom, Ulah, High Rock Boat Dock Marina, and Nc Wildlife Access Boat Launch.

Northwestern Montgomery County in central North Carolina. Southwestern Randolph County in central North Carolina. Northeastern Stanly County in central North Carolina. * Until 630 PM EDT. * At 539 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near High Rock Lake, or 10 miles northwest of Badin Lake, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD. 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include. Badin Lake, Badin, Denton, Richfield, New London, Eldorado, Fish Tales Marina, High Rock Lake, Whip-O-Will Campground, and Newsom.
