At 452 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms near Modena, or 7 miles east of Ellenville, moving northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD. Wind gusts up to 30 to 40 mph. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include. Poughkeepsie, New Paltz, Ellenville, Wallkill, Hyde Park, Plattekill, Pleasant Valley, Highland, Modena, High Falls, Kerhonkson, Tillson, Napanoch, Fairview, Red Oaks Mill, Staatsburg, Wawarsing, Lloyd, Crawford, and Esopus. This includes Interstate 87 near exit 18. Localized rainfall rates my approach a half an inch to an inch an hour, which may cause ponding of water on roadways and poor drainage flooding of low lying areas.
