* WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE. A portion of southeast New York, including the following counties, Nassau and eastern Queens. * WHEN. Until 800 AM EDT. * IMPACTS. Minor flooding in low lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 524 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain capable of causing minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 0.8 inches are expected over the area along and near the Long Island Expressway in central and eastern Nassau. - Some locations that could experience flooding include. Plainview, Mineola, Westbury, Bayside, Hicksville, Whitestone, Manhasset, Little Neck, Bethpage, Floral Park, Jericho, New Hyde Park, East Hills, Roslyn Heights, Carle Place, Searingtown, Old Westbury, Herricks, Lake Success and Thomaston. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
