Localized higher amounts up to 5 inches were observed. Another round of very heavy rain is expected with severe thunderstorms through this evening. This likely will lead to additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches, with localized higher amounts possible. River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 24 hours. * WHAT. Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Mississippi River at Winfield. * WHEN. From Tuesday afternoon until further notice. * IMPACTS. At 28.6 feet, Water begins covering Highway C about a half mile south of Highway B in St. Charles County. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 11:30 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 25.3 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to rise above flood stage early Tuesday afternoon and continue rising to 28.8 feet Saturday morning. Additional rises are possible thereafter. - Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
