Through Monday morning. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Widespread rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches occurred this morning, particularly focused across southeast Missouri, western Kentucky, and far southern Illinois. Localized higher amounts up to 5 inches were observed. Another round of very heavy rain is expected with severe thunderstorms through this evening. This likely will lead to additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches, with localized higher amounts possible. This will lead to a heightened flash flooding concern, especially in those areas that already received flooding this morning. River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 24 hours. * WHAT. Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Mississippi River at Winfield. * WHEN. From late Monday night until further notice. * IMPACTS. At 28.6 feet, Water begins covering Highway C about a half mile south of Highway B in St. Charles County. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 10:30 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 25.5 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to rise to a crest of 28.5 feet Friday morning. It will then rise to 28.5 feet Friday morning. Additional rises are possible thereafter. - Flood stage is 26.0 feet.

Until 930 PM CDT. * IMPACTS. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 634 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. St. Louis, Granite City, Collinsville, Edwardsville, Glen Carbon, Wood River, Highland, Troy, Maryville, Pontoon Beach, Madison, Venice, South Roxana, Roxana, Hartford, St. Jacob, Marine, Brooklyn, Alhambra and West Alton.

Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 630 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported heavy rain in the advisory area due to thunderstorms. This is causing urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area.
