From 4 PM CDT this afternoon through 7 AM CDT Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Numerous thunderstorms producing very heavy rainfall are expected to develop ahead of a slow moving cold front. Several inches of rain in a short time is possible.

Heat and humidity will build today across much of eastern Iowa, northwest and western Illinois, and northeast Missouri. Heat index readings will rise to the upper 90s to around 100 degrees through early this evening.
