The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Minnesota. Vermilion River near Crane Lake affecting far northern St. Louis County. * WHAT. Minor flooding is currently forecast. * WHERE. Vermilion River near Crane Lake. * WHEN. Until Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS. At 12.0 feet, Flooding of Gold Mine Road and public river access begins. At 14.0 feet, Gold Mine Road flooding likely at public river access. Access to Gold Mine Camp affected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 10:30 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 13.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to remain near flood stage through Monday before slowly receding. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. - Flood History. * WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE. In Minnesota, west-central and northern St. Louis County, including near and within the city of Cook. * WHEN. Until 500 PM CDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS. While water levels are receding numerous structures remain flooded. Flooding and flood clean up efforts continue within the city of Cook. Numerous roads remain closed across northern and western St. Louis County due to flooding. Lake Vermilion remains over a foot above it's previous water level. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 1106 AM CDT Sunday, emergency management and National Weather Service employees reported flooding continues in the warned area due to heavy rainfall that occurred Tuesday evening. - Water has been receding from the town of Cook however some structures and streets near the river remain flooded. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. * WHAT. Flooding caused by upstream dam release continues. * WHERE. In Minnesota, southeastern St. Louis County. * WHEN. Until 400 PM CDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS. Flooding of the Cloquet river downstream of Island Lake including Hunter and Bowman lakes is occurring. Downstream homes and secondary roads are impacted. Extensive downstream flooding is possible along the Cloquet River. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 1036 AM CDT Sunday, High flows from Island Lake Reservoir continue causing flooding downstream. The Island Lake Reservoir is NOT in danger of failing. High flows will continue through Wednesday. There is potential for heavy rainfall Monday night which may increase the duration of high water in the warned area. - Dangerous river conditions are expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. Island Lake, Hunter Lake, Bowman Lake, Fond Du Lac Band Brookston Area, and Burnett. Until 500 PM CDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and lakes is occurring. Several structures are flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 1031 AM CDT Sunday, emergency management reported heavy rain in the warned area due to flooding is ongoing due to heavy rainfall that occurred Tuesday evening. Flooding is already occurring. - Upstream river levels on the Cloquet River at Brimson crested Thursday and continue receding while river levels at Alden Lake have crested and have been receding since 1130 AM CDT Saturday. - Some locations that are experiencing flooding include. The National Weather Service in Duluth MN has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Minnesota. St. Louis River at Scanlon affecting northeastern Carlton County and southern St. Louis County. * WHAT. Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE. St. Louis River at Scanlon. * WHEN. At least until Wednesday. Additional precipitation is possible Monday evening which may lengthen the duration of this crest. * IMPACTS. At 10.5 feet, Minor flooding occurs of low areas adjacent to the river near Cloquet city park and near Scanlon. Water encroaches buildings near River Gate Rd. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 7:30 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 10.7 feet. - Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet. - Recent Activity. The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:30 AM CDT Sunday was 10.7 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to rise to a crest of 11.0 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage early Tuesday morning. - Flood stage is 10.5 feet. - Flood History.
