The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Minnesota. Vermilion River near Crane Lake affecting far northern St. Louis County. * WHAT. Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Vermilion River near Crane Lake. * WHEN. From Thursday afternoon to early Tuesday morning. * IMPACTS. At 12.0 feet, Flooding of Gold Mine Road and public river access begins. At 14.0 feet, Gold Mine Road flooding likely at public river access. Access to Gold Mine Camp affected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 8:30 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 10.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet and expected to be reached by late Wednesday evening or early overnight. - Forecast. The river is expected to rise above flood stage early tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 15.5 feet early Saturday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late Monday evening. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. - Flood History. * WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE. In Minnesota, Cook, southern Lake and east-central St. Louis Counties. * WHEN. Until 400 PM CDT Thursday. * IMPACTS. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Previously passable roads may now be flooded as rivers continue to rise and should crest in the next 12 to 24 hours. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 241 PM CDT Wednesday, Doppler radar, observers and law enforcement indicated flooding due to heavy rainfall from thunderstorms on Tuesday. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 3 and 7 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall is possible in the warned area Thursday through this upcoming weekend, which may aggravate the ongoing flooding problems. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. Grand Marais, Gunflint Lake, Two Harbors, Silver Bay, Grand Portage, Clear Lake, Lutsen, Tofte, Beaver Bay, Fairbanks, Wolf Lake, George Manitou State Park, Dumbbell Lake, Sugar Loaf Cove, Little Marais, Taconite Harbor, Finland, Isabella, Temperance River State Park and Forest Center. - Rises are expected on area rivers and streams through Thursday.
