A persistent band of rain has brought significant rain totals to portions of Muskegon County. Rain is expected to continue into early tonight. * WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE. A portion of west central Michigan, including the following county, Muskegon. * WHEN. Until 530 AM EDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Expect flooded roads to continue overnight. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 526 PM EDT, reliable reports of heavy rain have been received in the warned area. Flooding is already occurring. Three to five inches of rain had fallen with unofficial reports of greater than seven inches of rain. An additional one to three inches of rain can be expected in this area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. Muskegon, Roosevelt Park, North Muskegon, Whitehall, Montague, Lakewood Club, Norton Shores, Dalton, Muskegon State Park, Duck Lake State Park and Twin Lake. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

* WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE. A portion of west central Michigan, including the following county, Muskegon. * WHEN. Until 215 AM EDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are elevated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 215 PM EDT, Radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Over two inches of rain has already fallen in the city of Muskegon, and 3 to 4 inches of rain has fallen north of Muskegon Lake to near the Dalton area. Minor urban flooding can be expected in the city. Additional rainfall of up to an inch can be expected through this evening before it tapers off. Locally higher amounts will be possible. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 854 PM EDT, reports have been received of heavy rain amounts between 4 and 7 inches across the warned area. - This flood warning covers western portions of Muskegon County between Muskegon and Whitehall, where the greatest rain totals have been received. A flood advisory surrounds the flood warning area, and covers the rest of the northern, central, and southwestern portions of Muskegon County where some minor flooding may also be occurring. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. Muskegon, Muskegon Heights, Roosevelt Park, North Muskegon, Whitehall, Montague, Lakewood Club, Fruitport, Norton Shores, Dalton, Holton, Sullivan, Twin Lake, Wolf Lake, Cloverville, Big Blue Lake and Brunswick. - This flood advisory covers northern, central, and southwestern portions of Muskegon County where some minor flooding may be occurring.
