SMWLCH The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a * Special Marine Warning for. Atchafalaya and East Cote Blanche Bays. Coastal waters from Lower Atchafalaya River to Intracoastal City LA out 20 NM. Waters from Intracoastal City to Cameron LA from 20 to 60 NM. Waters from Lower Atchafalaya River to Intracoastal City LA from 20 to 60 NM. * Until 930 PM CDT. * At 757 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from near Atchafalaya Bay to Eugene Island 74 to Vermilion 215, moving southeast at 30 knots. HAZARD. Waterspouts and wind gusts to 40 knots. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include. Northwestern St. Martin Parish in south central Louisiana. * Until 900 PM CDT. * At 513 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD.
