Extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. There is a chance that clouds linger from an overnight chance for showers and storms and this could cut into how high heat indices get on Tuesday. However, should clouds scatter out, heat indices could rapidly rise quickly. Heat stress increases with the number of consecutive hot days. Hot conditions are forecast for the next five days. The effects of heat are most impactful for more vulnerable urban populations.
